We’re pretty excited about all the amazing achievements our team accomplished since last NAB. Let’s take a look:
- 65 new features add (including a new app!)
- Over 10 million files and 325,000 hours of video/audio content uploaded to Ci
- 3 PB (that’s Petabytes) of content upload and 4PB downloaded
- 1.5 MILLION MediaBoxes opened globally
For those of you going to NAB Show, here’s a snapshot of our recent releases (and some upcoming sneak previews) that you can expect to see. Every year we love the opportunity to meet with Ci fans face-to-face and hear your feedback, so be sure to come catch up with us at the show!
Coming soon to Ci
Expedited Restore
Archivists, this one’s for you! Since introducing the archive function in Ci, many of you have asked for an option to restore archived files faster. With this new feature, users will get to choose between the usual temporary or permanent restore AND whether to expedite the restore to get files back in as few as 3 minutes (depending on file count and size). This lightening fast access lets teams more aggressively archive their way to significant storage cost savings.
The new expedited restore feature is just one step towards many more advanced storage management features coming soon to Ci. Stop by the Ci booth at NAB to learn about these upcoming features.

Live Stream Support in Ci
Live stream support is… LIVE! Now, Ci users can interact with live streams in much the same way they do with standard files. Perfect for confidence monitoring, stream archiving and more!.
Speaking of more… live streams are also supported in MediaLog which means you can enrich your stream’s metadata while it is still live-streaming (aka Live Logging!) For social media or editorial teams, you can even use the clipping feature in MediaLog to generate ‘selects’ clips while it is streaming (aka Live Clipping!)
Read our User Guide to learn how to add a live stream to your Workspace.
Enhanced Technical Metadata Extraction and Search
We also expanded the amount of technical metadata we extract for uploaded files. Way more technical goodness is now at your fingertips. We’re even helping you identify the difference between dual-mono and true stereo automatically. To find the technical metadata, simply select “More technical metadata” or the Technical metadata tab in the context panel.
Capturing and displaying this advanced metadata was important to us, because we understand that they’re meaningful to you when you’re searching for the right file. That’s why in addition to capturing all this wonderful metadata during ingest, we also updated our search function to enable filtering by technical metadata! Now, you can locate your files quicker by filtering for search results using filters like: Archive status, aspect ratio, audio channel count, audio sample rates, video codec, frame rate, pixel dimensions, and runtime.
